Southern Coastline Paddle
This adventure heads west from Macauley Point along the southern
coastline of Vancouver Island. Paddling beyond Fisgard Lighthouse
National Historic Site past the shoreline of Fort Rodd with its rich
military history, you will arrive at Esquimalt Lagoon. Before
paddling back to our starting point, we take a short break on a
beautiful sandy beach below 100-year-old Hatley Castle, where many
Hollywood movies have been filmed. The Castle overlooks the lagoon,
a bird sanctuary, home to gulls, ducks, geese, swans, terns, herons,
kingfishers and eagles as well as many other species.This kayaking adventure takes approximately 3-4 hours depending on the speed of our paddlers. This tour is not suitable for novice paddlers. Weather permitting, this tour begins at our shop at 80 Regatta Landing, please allow at least 5 hours to complete this excursion. (Please see our Contact page for directions and map.)
