This four day adventure begins in Victoria from the VIA Rail train
station on Johnson St. at 8:00am. After a one and a half hour ride
over the scenic Malahat, you will arrive in the historical and
culturally rich Cowichan Valley. Here you will meet the bikes and
begin your ride over the rolling hills of the Cowichan Valley towards
the small town of Chemainus, where you will see it’s world famous
outdoor gallery of murals. Situated right on the ocean, Chemainus
is rich in history. After an exciting day of
cycling, you will arrive at a comfortable bed and breakfast where
you will be able to relax and enjoy.
Day two will take you over to Salt Spring island on a scenic and pleasant ferry ride. This island has seen much growth over the years, but it still maintains a rich amount of natural charm. With world-class artists and an amazing market on Saturdays in the small village of Ganges, Salt Spring is a great place to spend the day. At the end of the day we will take you to another bed and breakfast where you will be able to rest after a fun day of exploration.
Day three starts with a short ride to Ganges, where you commence a marine adventure tour in a high speed whale watching zodiac to Saturna Island. This unique island feels as if it was made to be visited and explored by bike. The long time established pubs have historical roots dating back to when Mayne Island was a stopover on the way to the Cariboo Gold Rush. After a day of peddling through lush greenery, you will come to the end of the day at a tranquil bed and breakfast where you will be able to renew your strength for the next day.Day four brings you back to Vancouver Island in the port town of Sidney, where you can stroll down Beacon Avenue and visit the many bookstores and cafés. Only a short ride away is the option of visiting either the world famous Butchart Gardens or the award winning Victoria Estate Winery. Afterwards, the Lochside Trail will lead you back towards the city of Victoria where you will finish your tour feeling invigorated and satisfied.
