This adventure begins in Victoria from the VIA Rail train station
on Johnson St. at 8:00am. After a one and a half hour ride over
the scenic Malahat, you will arrive in the historical and
culturally rich Cowichan Valley where our Courtesy Van will greet
you. It will take you to The Kinsol Trestle, which lies high above
the Koksilah River. The Kinsol Trestle is the tallest remaining
trestle of its kind in Canada and has been left as a tribute to
the engineering genius that opened up the forests of the West Coast
to the rest of Canada. From here adventurers will get on their
fully equipped hybrid bikes and head north along the Trans Canada
Trail through a rural and natural setting that will make
everyone appreciate the prevailing serenity of the area.
Before you know it you have arrived in the beautiful vineyards of Godfrey and Brown, and Zanatta’s Vinoteca where you will stop for an award-winning wine tasting. Afterwards you will relax on the sunny veranda that over looks the active vineyards while you eat your gourmet lunch. When it’s time to leave, you will have an easy ride along the country roads to the train station in time to catch your train back to Victoria.
The $139.00 CAD per person includes train fare, van transfers, fully equipped hybrid bicycle, helmet, gourmet lunch, snack, and courtesy pick-up and drop-off from your accommodation.
